Case Study: Kyocera’s Tiered Color Technology

November 20, 2019

When Brittani Hess met with an office manager of a local non-profit in the Dubuque area, she learned that they had been searching for a new Managed Print Provider for the last quarter, their lease was coming up and their expectations were not being met by their current provider.

In their current situation, they had two machines, one black and one color. They were paying an extremly high set cost per page on their color machine, although they didn’t always utilize an entire page of full color when they were printing. When inquiring why they had two machines, Brittani was told that their current provider said that one machine could not handle their entire print volume, so they had no option. This is when she immediately knew that Kyocera could help.

Kyocera not only offers a fleet of MFP’s and printers that are capable of handling large print volumes while still boasting an average lifespan of 10-15 years; they also offer cutting edge technology with Kyocera’s Tiered Color Monitor, which enables documents that contain lower levels of color to be billed at a lower rate than full color documents.

During the process, the non-profit was also receiving bids from 2 other competitors in the area, but ultimately being the only exclusive Kyocera dealer, Brittani was able to come up with a customized solution for the non-profit, including tiered color, security solutions on the machine specific to their flow of  operations, and business applications that would ease the workload for all of their end-users.

After a follow up meeting with the office manager and the IT department to make sure all priorities and needs were being met, Brittani proposed the 4053ci and the 5053ci, ultimately giving them the choice of how fast they wanted the machine to copy and print.

Upgrading to the 5053ci, Kyocera consolidated both of their old machines into one monthly lease and signing a maintance agreement with Copy Systems Inc. means that they now get to enjoy higher quality color, a faster page per minute, and dual scan technology, all for a lower monthly cost than what they were paying before.

Once it is all said and done, upgrading is saving them $235.09 a month. Money that is now allocated to their mission- improving the health and well-being of the community’s youth.
